Last year, I wrote well over 200k words. From perhaps February to October-ish, I spent most of my free time writing (and editing). Publishing a whole ass novel has been so rewarding, but it’s no wonder that I’ve hit a bit of a wall when it comes to the follow-up to Indelibly.
I know I’ve harped about real-life stuff a lot on this blog since publishing this website, but it hasn’t exactly let up enough for me to fully focus on getting back into my writing habit. Lemon Pepper went into heat twice since we “adopted” her into our house and she finally got spayed yesterday. She’s been very grumpy, as her coat color indicates she normally would be. But she’s also slept a lot and I’m optimistic she’ll have a smooth recovery.

Also, the fish pond once again flooded from underneath due to all the rain we got mid-week. So, with temps dropping rapidly, I’ve yearned for a hot bath. Alas, I have tub fish until the pond is refilled tonight. Mr Eliza and I finally figured out that we needed to engineer a barrier-slash-moat to divert water around the pond because we did not bury the liner the way we should have. And it’s not like we have a premade basin for the koi pond. We dug it out with our own hands, so short of pulling everything up and pouring concrete, we have to work with what we have. Which is a very sloped back yard and a – hopefully – more effective barrier system to keep water from rushing directly under the liner and pushing the water out of the pond every time it pours.

So, with our shower reno 95% finished and our 10th anniversary having just gone by, I’m looking forward to blogging about much less stressful things in the coming weeks. Perhaps a few sneak peeks of the new book (risky, I know, since nothing’s been edited yet) to get my ass into gear with writing more!

Here’s to getting back into the habit!
